The trailer for Soderbergh’s Unsane is a stalking victim’s worst nightmare

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As far as triggers go, the trailer for Steven Soderbergh's psychological horror-thriller UNSANE is bound to put stalking victims on edge. Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, the Soderbergh-directed feature stars Claire Foy as a young woman who is involuntarily committed to a mental institution where she is confronted by her greatest fear–but is it real or is it a product of her delusion? Joining Foy for this disturbing film that touches upon a very serious matter are Joshua LeonardJay PharoahJuno Temple, Aimee Mullins and Amy Irving.

Perhaps one of the most terrifying aspects of UNSANE is that, more times than not, a stalking victim's cries for help are often dismissed by those with the power to help keep them safe. Now, couple that notion with a refrigerator full of sedatives and a staff of untrustworthy healthcare professionals, and you've got a recipe for disaster. If you know of anyone who fears that someone could be following them, be sure to take them seriously, and offer your protection in whatever manner the victim feels is the safest course of action.

UNSAFE will arrive in theaters nationwide on March 23rd.
