The Twilight Zone, Jordan Peele, canceled, Paramount+, Paramount Plus

ViacomCBS' Paramount+ streaming service made a slew of announcements about their rebranded launch on March 4, 2021, but one show that won't be making the transition from CBS All Access is Jordan Peele's revival of the anthology series The Twilight Zone. It has officially been announced that the episodic series has been canceled after two seasons.

The Twilight Zone was not included during Wednesday's presentation to investors about the Paramount+ platform. The streamer didn't indicate the reason as to why the series won't be back but it's possible that it just doesn't fit the model they're using for their rebranding of CBS All Access to Paramount+. Paramount+ head of programming Julie McNamara had this to say about the series and its run:

"Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and the entire production team truly reimagined The Twilight Zone for the modern age. They upheld the classic series' legacy of socially conscious storytelling and pushed today's viewers to explore all new dimensions of thought-provoking and topical themes that we hope will resonate with audiences for years to come."

The Twilight Zone was rebooted back in 2017 with Jordan Peele serving as executive producer, host, and narrator. The show was presented as an individual episodic anthology series and it was to pick up where the popular Rod Serling-created series left off but with a modern interpretation of the original show that still attracts viewers every New Year's Day via marathons. Peele's version ran for two seasons and twenty episodes before wrapping up its run last summer. The show did ride a bit of the popularity that Peele was generating due to his hit film Get Out and it attracted a slew of high-profile talent including Sanaa Lathan, Adam Scott, Billy Porter, Steven Yeun, Kumail Nanjiani, Rhea Seehorn, Chris Meloni, and many more.

Were YOU a fan of the revamped version of The Twilight Zone? Are YOU sad to see it go?
