Back in 2019, Jeffrey A. Brown made his feature directorial debut with a solid horror film called The Beach House (read our review HERE), which was released through the Shudder streaming service. Now Deadline reports that Shudder has picked up the streaming rights to Brown’s second feature, a horror movie called The Unheard! The Unheard will be available to watch through Shudder in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as of March 31st.

Scripted by Crawl writers Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen, The Unheard follows 20-year-old Chloe Grayden, who after undergoing an experimental procedure to restore her damaged hearing, begins to suffer from auditory hallucinations seemingly related to the mysterious disappearance of her mother

Chloe is played by Lachlan Watson, who was recently seen playing Glen and Glenda on season 2 of the Chucky TV series. Nick Sandow (Orange Is the New Black) and Brendan Meyer (The OA) are also in the cast.

The Unheard was developed and produced by Andrew D. Corkin through his Untapped banner. Corkin shares Untapped with Theo James, who serves as an executive producer on the film. The Rasmussens are also credited as producers.

Brown had this to say about the Shudder deal: “I am beyond excited to be working with Shudder again. We had a fantastic experience with The Beach House and I’m super grateful to have the opportunity to share The Unheard with its members. Our cast and crew have delivered a stunning piece of work and I cannot wait for audiences to take our trip into the strange realms between life & death and silence & noise!

I really enjoyed The Beach House, so I’m glad to hear there will be another Brown film to watch on Shudder soon. The involvement of the Rasmussens and Lachlan Watson makes me even more interested in checking out The Unheard as soon as it’s available.
