February is going to be a good month for television. The traditional month of sweeps means premieres of new episodes of shows that have been on a Christmas hiatus and mid-season premieres of returning series. Two shows I am excited to see are THE WALKING DEAD and HANNIBAL, both of which released new teasers touting their upcoming episodes.

HANNIBAL wowed audiences last year by being much better than it had any right to be. Featuring surreal imagery, horrifyingly grotesque murders, and brilliant performances from Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as Will Graham, HANNIBAL will begin airing its second season on February 28th on NBC. The brief teaser does not feature any actual footage from the new episodes but does showcase Lecter preparing an epicurian feast using a human leg.

THE WALKING DEAD’s mid-season premiere airs February 9th on AMC. After the balls-out finale that split our survivors as the Governor ransacked the prison, Rick and Carl are forced to survive on their own, but for how long? With fan favorite characters such as Abraham Ford scheduled to appear in the second half of the season, expect some surprising twists and turns in the remaining eight episodes.
