The witches are back! Teaser trailer released for Suspiria remake

Suspiria Dakota Johnson Luca Guadagnino

Although attendees of CinemaCon got to see a bone-crushing clip from director Luca Guadagnino's remake of the Dario Argento classic SUSPIRIA a couple months ago, the rest of us have been kept in the dark… Until now. Our first real look at the upcoming re-do has arrived online in the form of a teaser trailer, which is embedded below.

Scripted by David Kajganich, the new take on SUSPIRIA stars Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, Jessica Harper and Chloë Grace Moretz. The synopsis:

A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director (Swinton), an ambitious young dancer (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Ebersdorf). Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

Most horror fans were against the idea of a SUSPIRIA remake from the beginning, but the more we hear about this one, the more we start to think it might have some merit. Guadagnino's approach is different than Argento's, and it could result in a quality film. Judging by the trailer below, which just gives us some quick-cut glimpses of moments set to a piece of score composed by Radiohead's Thom Yorke, it's going to be a fascinating visual experience, even if it doesn't have Argento's colorful touch.

Amazon Studios will be giving SUSPIRIA a theatrical release on November 2, 2018.
