What if I told you guys there was another CHILDREN OF THE CORN flick heading our way? Would that be something you might be interested in? Hell it was only last year that the SyFy Channel went and threw together a remake of the 1984 Stephen King adaptation. Here we are a year later with news on yet another CHILDREN flick? Well hey, who are we to complain? Oh that’s right… we’re the internet.
Seriously though folks, according to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting we do indeed have another CHILDREN OF THE CORN in the works. The project is called CHILDREN OF THE CORN: THE DWELLER and is coming at us from writer/director Joel Soisson. The guys over at B-D are also saying that production on THE DWELLER is set to start next month in Los Angeles. Here’s the rundown:
The plot begins on a trip to California, a family’s car overheats leaving them stranded in the home of a creepy couple and their kid.
Sounds like another trip to the cornfields on this end! Now Soisson has been around our genre before, having penned DRACULA 2000, HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD and HOLLOW MAN 2 among many others. He’s also directed and produced a few straight to DVD genre sequels so THE DWELLER should be right down his alley!
We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more on this new CHILDREN OF THE CORN adventure as it starts up principal photography next month. As always be sure to keep it here for more as we hear it!
