CREEP (pictured above) and CREEP 2 director Patrick Brice has signed on to direct THERE'S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE for Netflix, Stranger Things producers 21 Laps Entertainment, and James Wan's production company Atomic Monster.

Scripted by SHAZAM!'s Henry Gayden and based on a novel by Stephanie Perkins, THERE'S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE is aiming to be a

combination of two different beloved teenage genres: the slashers that came to prominence in the '80s and '90s and the character-driven coming of age classics a'la John Hughes films and AMERICAN GRAFFITI.

While that sounds cool and I'm totally on board to see some kind of John Hughes / slasher movie mash-up, how about some information on the plot? We'll have to turn to the description of Perkins' novel for that.

It's been almost a year since Makani Young came to live with her grandmother in landlocked Nebraska, and she's still adjusting to her new life. And still haunted by her past in Hawaii.

More than a year after her parents sent her away from Hawaii to live with her grandmother in landlocked Nebraska, Makani Young is still adjusting to her new life. She’s made a small group of close friends and even flirted with romance, but her past in Hawaii is still hard to forget. And then… one by one the students of her new high school begin to die in a series of gruesome murders. Makani doesn’t know who’s next on the list. Between this, and a secret scorching relationship with the school weirdo, this school year may turn out to be one to die for… literally.

That works for me. I look forward to seeing how this is going to turn out.

THERE'S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE is scheduled to begin filming this fall. If you'd like to pick up a copy of the novel in the meantime, you can do so at THIS LINK.
