These four new Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation TV spots ramp up the action

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It feels like the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION marketing train didn’t start until very late in the game. The first teaser for the fifth entry in the Tom Cruise action franchise debuted in late March and yet it feels like a year since we glimpsed Ethan Hunt hanging off the side of an airplane. Now, with just ten days until the film hits theaters, we have four new TV spots to drive home how epic this movie looks.

Christopher McQuarrie‘s direction in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION looks inspired and on par with what we have seen from J.J. Abrams and Brad Bird in the last two installments of the series. But, there is something about this chapter that looks unique compared to the rest. I hesitate to say that MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION looks bigger than it’s predecessors, but I cannot think of any other way to put it. This movie looks big.

I love seeing the team reunited from the last film along with the addition of the sultry Rebecca Ferguson. That yellow dress has been knocking me out since the first glimpse three months ago. But, her inclusion in this film makes me wonder why they never really address where the women go in this series. Hopefully there is some throwaway line explaining why Paula Patton isn’t here, but the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE series has always been about the boys club and new eye candy with each chapter.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION opens on July 31st.
