Magnet Releasing recently picked up the rights to the all-female horror antholgy XX, which is expected to release sometime this year. While details on the film are still being held tightly, we do have the poster premiere; it's fantastic. It's a very minimalist design that speaks to the gender twist this anthology is aiming for. Can't wait to see more!
The XX anthology will be comprised of short horror films by Karyn Kusama (GIRLFIGHT, JENNIFER'S BODY), Mary Harron (AMERICAN PSYCHO), Jennifer Lynch (SURVEILLANCE), and Jovanka Vuckovic. The filmmakers will develop their own stories, and each will have a female lead character. The various segments will be linked by work by Guadalajara-based stop-motion animator Sofia Carrillo, who will also create the film’s title sequence.
Todd Brown will produce for XYZ, whose Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakia will executive produce for the company.
