Back when X-MEN: FIRST CLASS was being marketed, we were hit with a slew of the shittiest posters ever made. I mean, it was almost like the marketing folks at Fox had been fired and replaced with chimpanzees. Well, it appears that at least for the moment, our cries of despair have been listened to as Entertainment Weekly has revealed two teaser posters for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST that are pretty damn awesome.

The marketers at Fox have the easiest job in the world and have over 15 new and old characters that they can showcase in character posters. But, instead of giving each mutant their own image, these teasers combine the visages of Ian McKellan with Michael Fassbender and Patrick Stewart with James McAvoy. The result is a disorienting mix that sells us on the competing eras at play in the time travel storyline.

Check out the badass posters below and hopefully we will get more in the weeks and months ahead. After that Comic Con panel, I suddenly have a renewed faith in Bryan Singer and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST stars Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, James Marsden, Evan Peters, and Josh Helman and now opens everywhere on May 23, 2014.
