We got a little heads up this morning about the details as to where you can check out the latest horror comedy from director Andrew Kasch. The film’s called THIRSTY and it stars the great Tiffany Shepis, Joe Lynch, and Michael Bailey Smith with promises of several voice cameos from different genre icons and filmmakers along the way.
But what the hell is THIRSTY all about? First, it’s a short film (about 15 minutes long), but it’s a short film that packs quite the punch as it’s based on the short story from cult horror author Joe Knetter. THIRSTY is a horror-comedy that chronicles a slacker on his cross-country drive through a lonely desert highway. As a massive heat wave rolls in, only one thing can quench his monstrous thirst: a delicious frozen beverage. But first he must dodge a series of bizarre obstacles and ultimately survive the night…
Nice! So when can you get your chance to check this puppy out? It’s making its world premiere at the 13th Annual Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) on Friday, August 7th at 12am midnight. The complete RIIFF runs August 4-9 in Providence, RI. You can check out all sorts of cool stuff about the festival, like the gory details on location and price and whatnot, by heading THIS WAY.
The concept sounds cool enough, and probably perfect for a short film–though I wouldn’t mind seeing something along these lines in full feature-length form. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how well THIRSTY is received before we’re able to look that far ahead.
