This new short comic based on Stephen King’s On Writing is a must read

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Like many of you fellow “constant readers” out there, I have read and re-read Stephen King‘s ‘half autobiography, half “memoir of the craft”‘ ON WRITING so many times that I’m pretty sure I can quote the book entire at this point. I know for sure the book passed along a frightfully* intense dislike for adverbs!

But in all seriousness, for those who have – for some strange reason – yet to devour the book, let me just tell you that everything you might want to know about King, his process, or the craft of writing itself, is contained within the book’s painfully* short page-count.

Anyhow, if you love King’s ON WRITING as much as I do (seriously, my copy looks like something Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman found in John Doe’s apartment) then you really need to check out this short, but amazing, comic that artist Gavin Aung Than recently posted to Zen Pencils.

I have included a few screenshots here, but really, like a works of King’s himself, the comic is more about the (short) journey than the moments. Although, again like King’s work, the moments are pretty killer as well.

Check out the full comic HERE. Enjoy and share. Everyone will love this.

Also, if you know someone who doesn’t own a copy of ON WRITING, buy them one RIGHT HERE. The book makes a great gift. Trust me.

*waka, waka.
