One of the best fan films out there is NEVER HIKE ALONE. Featuring Jason from FRIDAY THE 13TH, the film is a must-see for fans of the slasher supreme. And as most of you may know by this point in time, the powers that be behind the scenes of that film have announced they are working on upcoming sequels (read that again SEQUELS). And today we have what is possibly the coolest FRIDAY THE 13TH fanboy news in decades as they just let the world know that they plan to pit Thom Mathews' Tommy Jarvis against Ghost Jason!

They tweeted this morning:

To hell with the lawsuit, who’s ready for the Friday the 13th showdown of the century? Ghost Jason vs Tommy Jarvis will happen in the Never Hike Alone sequels! Official Announcement coming this fall!

For those who haven't seen the original NEVER HIKE ALONE yet (SPOILERS), Thom Mathews had a surprise cameo in the flick so this new announcement is more than a little fitting. Hell, yeah! The last time Mathews' Jarvis battled Jason was in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART V I: JASON LIVES. That film followed this synopsis:

Years ago, Tommy Jarvis (Thom Mathews) killed infamous hockey-masked murderer Jason Voorhees (C.J. Graham), and the intensity of the experience has landed him in a mental institution. To end his torment and achieve a level of closure, Tommy escapes from the hospital and heads to the graveyard where Jason is buried, intending to dig up the body and cremate it. But, before this total annihilation can occur, a freak electrical accident resurrects Jason from the dead, and the terror begins anew.

JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI was written and directed by Tom McLoughlin based on characters created by Victor Miller. Don Behrns produced and the film starred Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis, Jennifer Cooke as Megan Garris, David Kagen as Sheriff Mike Garris, and C. J. Graham & Dan Bradley as Jason Voorhees.
