Thor: Love And Thunder is scheduled to hit screens this summer on July 9, 2022, but like any big tentpole release, reshoots are necessary and the film is reportedly filming some with Christian Bale’s villain, Gorr the God Butcher.

According to a new report coming in from The Ankler’s Jeff Sneider, via The Direct, reshoots are currently underway and they are mostly focused on scenes involving Bale’s Gorr. Shooting is reportedly taking place in Manhattan Beach, California, which would make sense because there is a studio in Manhattan Beach where Marvel films have frequently shot over the years. We also say the actor filming in costume on a beach back in August 2021. The report also suggests that the reason we haven’t gotten a trailer just yet is because of these reshoots taking place.

Thor: Love And Thunder was officially announced back in 2019 at San Diego Comic-Con. Shooting on the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic which also affected the film’s release date, which shifted on a few occasions. Most of the principal photography took place in Australia but additional work was done in the United States.

Directed by Taika Waititi, who is returning after helming Thor: Ragnarok, Thor: Love And Thunder sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder as well as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, who will also take up the Thor mantle, and Tessa Thompson.
