Eric recently hit you all with a trailer for the novel ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER. Well it was only a matter of time before this one headed to the big screen right? But the same day the book is released? Damn.
That’s right folks, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER was released yesterday March 2, the same day it was announced over at Variety that filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are planning on reteaming to produce a film adaptation of the novel!
The duo, who previously teamed to produce Shane Acker’s 9, are planning on solely producing ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER and nothing more. According to Variety it seems Burton and Bekmambetov purchased the rights to the novel with their own money. Seems the dudes really dig it huh? Nice! Fellow 9 producer Jim Lemley will be joining the two as producer. Seth Grahame-Smith, who penned the novel, will adapt the screenplay. Who better?
