Halloween series timelines! We explore Michael Myer’s many parallel stories

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In 1978 John Carpenter and Debra Hill changed the horror landscape with HALLOWEEN, and it's silent killer, Michael Myers. After forty-two years and eleven entries later, the HALLOWEEN franchise has become… complicated.

With HALLOWEEN doing the soft-reboot thing before it was ever popular, this franchise ends up with five distinct timelines with some sequels counting; others disregarded, a standalone, a remake, and much more. To make sense of this jumbled mess, we made a fun, snarky, and helpful video to guide you through each of the five timelines.

So grab yourself your favorite cocktail, beer, or wine and sit back and enjoy.

About the Author

Video Editor/Critic/Writer

Favorite Movies: Too many to name, but I love the all-time greats, some read more trash, and the schlock in between. For every masterpiece like Shawshank, Jaws, or Casino, I also love movies like Warlock 2, Friday the 13th Part 7, and Trancers 2. I'm a film buff, not a purist.

Likes: I love movies, great food, and unique pets. I’m a lifelong read more film lover, a proud owner of four sugar gliders, and a master of crafting a damn fine Chicago-style pizza.
