In anticipation of its release later this spring, the New York Times featured Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s GRINDHOUSE in Sunday’s paper. Both Rodriquez and Tarantino participated in the article offering up juicy quotes on their films. Here are some tidbits:
* Tarantino on scenes purposely cut out of the film to emulate the grindhouse feel of missing reels: “My whole thing is to play with the audience…I guarantee you, when it pops up ‘Missing Reel,’ the entire theater is going to scream.”
* The four fake trailers that will run in between the two films were directed by Eli Roth, Rob Zombie, Edgar Wright and Rodriguez.
* Rodriguez: “Even though she’s got a machine-gun leg, it’s not jokey in any way.”
* Tarantino says “Death Proof” will feature “one of the greatest car chases, if not the greatest car chase, ever made.
* Tarantino also says “Death Proof” will feature “some of the best dialogue I’ve ever written in my life.” Dialogue he was so proud of he forwarded it to Bob Dylan.
