Another day, another genre-tinged TV series headed down the lane…
Variety is reporting that TNT has just bought a script from Mick Davis called “Wasteland,” a supernatural action-adventure series set in the American southwest. Fermantle Media North America and Landscape Entertainment are producing.
Logline involves a U.S. marshal who is charged with hunting down the supernatural escapees on the run following a federal prison break.
Hmm, supernatural escapees? WTF, is this supposed to be some kind of ghost prison? Sounds fishy, but if directed well, could potentially be really cool. I’m thinking THE FUGITIVE meets GHOSTBUSTERS. That’d be interesting, right?!? F*ckin-A that’s right!
Davis (seen above there) has writing credits dating back to 1996. He’s written THE VAMPYRE WARS, THE INVISIBLE, WAKE OF DEATH, and most recently, “The Eleventh Hour” TV series. Hopefully “Wasteland” enjoys a longer run.
More on “Wasteland” as we reel it in.
