The last ‘sort-of-update’ we had on HALLOWEEN 3D came back in January, when we heard from Scout Taylor-Compton about how she declined to return as ‘Laurie Strode’ because the film was being rushed. Well boy do things change. But I’m getting ahead of myself here… Let’s rewind.
You see Fangoria recently chatted with the great Tom Atkins (above) about his upcoming flick DRIVE ANGRY 3D, which is coming from MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer. Well Atkins previously worked with the duo on MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and it seems VALENTINE and DRIVE won’t be the only two flicks the trio bring us:
“They’re still looking for the money, but it’s pretty much set to go this December or early next year. Me and Scout Taylor-Compton are both going to do it.”
Oh yeah folks, the man is talking about HALLOWEEN 3D! And wait a minute… Scout Taylor-Compton (below) is good to go? Quite a difference from when we last heard from her, no? If this was some rumor I’d call bullsh*t but considering it’s coming from Mr. Atkins himself I think it’s a pretty safe bet. Well damn. But that’s not all folks! Atkins even goes on to describe who he’ll be playing in the film! Pretty easy to hammer out the setting for HALLOWEEN 3D as well:
So HALLOWEEN 3D could be taking place in a mental hospital? Nice! I’m all for watching a new Michael Myers tear apart a bunch of chicks in a mental institution! Actually I’m even more intrigued to see Taylor-Compton under Lussier’s direction, considering the director is pretty much the opposite of Rob Zombie.
