Tom Savini and fellow effects artist selling Jason Voorhees style PPE masks

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

While the battle against COVID-19 continues, many places around the world require people to wear protective masks while in public. And when it comes to masks, the coolest one out there is Jason Voorhees' hockey mask. So special effects legend Tom Savini and his fellow effects artist Jason Baker have teamed up to create Jason-style personal protective equipment masks.

These "hockey mask PPEs" are made by a skeleton crew taking extra precautions, every one of them handcrafted and made-to-order. So some fans have even requested that their mask look like the one in the FRIDAY THE 13TH NES game.

CBR reports that each mask goes for a price of $60. For $100, you can get a mask that has been signed by Savini.

Savini provided the FX that helped the original FRIDAY THE 13TH become one of the most popular horror films of all time. After creating the look of young Jason for that film, he later returned to the franchise to work with the adult, hockey mask wearing Jason on FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER.

Baker may be best known for the props and effects work he has done for various WWE shows and specials.
