A sequel to Tobe Hooper’s TOOLBOX MURDERS has been gestured since the first film was released. Now, some seven years later, it’s finally happening. Principal photography has officially begun in Los Angeles on the film, titled TBK: THE TOOLBOX MURDERS. It is written and directed by Dean C. Jones, who was second unit director and head of the makeup department on the original.
Here is the synopsis we last heard, although there is no word as to whether or not it is still accurate: Picking up directly after the events of Tobe Hooper’s 2003 version of The Toolbox Murders, survivors Nell and Stephen continue their night of Hell as they’re rushed to the nearby Hollywood Memorial hospital. Meanwhile, detectives Cole and Barnes and criminal profiler McGavin exhume TBK’s modern day tomb and uncover his origins.
Chauntal Lewis (below, SEANCE) stars in the picture, reportedly playing the sister of the Nell (Angel Bettis’ character). She is joined by Lance Henriksen (ALIENS), Brian Krause (SLEEPWALKERS), Ethan Phillips (“STAR TREK: VOYAGER”) and Christopher Doyle, who will reprise his role as the killer, Coffin Baby.
