Director Alice Waddington's feature debut PARADISE HILLS had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festive earlier this year, and is now heading toward a November 1st release courtesy of Samuel Goldwyn Films. Less than three months out that release, a trailer has arrived online… and they're definitely not making any attempt to hide how strange this film is.

Reactions out of Sundance said it was confusing, didn't make any sense. I get that out of watching the trailer. But the reviewers also said that the movie was gorgeous and dazzling to look at. I get that out of watching the trailer, too.

Described as a sci-fi fantasy, PARADISE HILLS has the following official synopsis:

On an isolated island, Uma wakes up to find herself at Paradise Hills, a facility where high-class families send their daughters to become perfect versions of themselves. The facility is run by the mysterious Duchess where calibrated treatments including etiquette classes, vocal lessons, beauty treatments, gymnastics and restricted diets, revolve all physical and emotional shortcomings within two months. The outspoken Uma finds solace and friendship in other Paradise Hills residents — Chloe, Yu and Mexican popstar Amarna. Uma soon realizes that lurking behind all this beauty is a sinister secret. It’s a race against the clock as Uma and her friends try to escape Paradise Hills before it consumes them all.

The film stars Emma Roberts, Milla Jovovich, Danielle MacDonald, Awkwafina, and Eiza Gonzalez.

Check out the trailer below and see if PARADISE HILLS looks like your brand of weird.
