Trailer for Bethesda’s survival horror game The Evil Within is pure nightmare fuel

Bethesda Softworks has officially revealed THE EVIL WITHIN, which will be a new survival horror game from Resident Evil’s Shinji Mikami. They have launched a live-action trailer for the game and it’s wicked as hell. There’s a lot of intense imagery going on in the trailer with some of it being down right creepy — almost makes you wish this was an actual movie coming out. There’s a point in the trailer where this four-armed woman comes crawling out of a pool of blood and it’s exactly what nightmares are made of. In short, what I’m trying to say is that this trailer is f*cking badass!

Shinji Mikami, the father of survival horror, is back to direct The Evil Within™ – a game embodying the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story weave together to create an immersive world that will bring players to the height of tension. The Evil Within is in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PC and next generation consoles and is slated for release in 2014.
