One new marketing trend I'm not a fan of at all is the "teaser for a trailer", which typically arrives a couple days ahead of a film's trailer and gives you a few seconds of imagery and dialogue snippets. Just give me the actual trailer and be done with it.
The latest film is to get a teaser for its trailer is Blumhouse's highly anticipated HALLOWEEN sequel. We know the full trailer is going to be released online this Friday, but just in case you needed a reminder a 15 second teaser is now available and can be viewed below. If you want to see some close-ups of the weathered, 40-year-old mask iconic killer Michael Myers will be wearing in the film and want to hear a couple lines of dialogue, this teaser is for you.
Ignoring the events of every HALLOWEEN except John Carpenter's 1978 original, this new HALLOWEEN sees the return of Jamie Lee Curtis as
Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Curtis's co-stars include Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Karen's daughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; and Diva Tyler as a caretaker, with stuntman James Jude Courtney and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle sharing the role of the slasher.
Directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the new HALLOWEEN was executive produced by Carpenter, who is also composing the score.
HALLOWEEN arrives in theatres on October 19th, and the trailer arrives online in just a couple days.
