While this Halloween season marks the first year in the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY franchise since its start without an annual installment, we've known for a while that we had two new films coming our way in 2014 with the direct sequel PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 coming late in the year and the Latino-themed spinoff PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES hitting theaters on January 3, 2014. Today we have our first look at THE MARKED ONES with the first trailer for the Christopher Landon-helmed flick.
I've dug the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series so far (yes, even P.A. 4…c'mon, it wasn't altogether horrible!) and while I completely understand that people are as sick of this franchise as they are of found footage films in general, I still think this spinoff looks decent and it'll probably do pretty damn good bank in theaters, which would be par for the course with this franchise. The film was written and directed by Christopher Landon and features a cast that includes Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, Eddie J. Fernandez, Jorge Diaz, David Fernandez Jr., Kimberly Ables Jindra, Tonja Kahlens and Frank Salinas. Look for it in theaters January 3, 2014.
