Trailer: Jeremy Gardner & Christian Stella’s creature-feature After Midnight

Love Will Rip Your Heart Out.

One of my favorite genre flicks of the last few years was Jeremy Gardner & Christian Stella's zombie-drama-comedy THE BATTERY. And today we have word that their new creature-feature romance AFTER MIDNIGHT will be unleashed via Cranked Up Films into theaters and On-Demand this Valentine's Day. And if that news wasn't good enough, today we also have the new film's trailer and poster to share with you guys.

You can check out the trailer up top and the poster below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think thus far.

It follows this synopsis:

Dealing with a girlfriend suddenly leaving is tough enough. But for Hank (Jeremy Gardner), heartbreak couldn’t have come at a worse time. There’s also a monster trying to break through his front door every night.

Furthermore, Gardner tells EW.

Hank is this small-town, good-old-boy hunter, about 10 years into a long-term relationship. He wakes up one morning and his partner, Abby, has just gone, [leaving] just a very cryptic note. Around the same time she leaves, something starts coming out of the swamp at night and scratching at the door and trying to get in. You don’t know if he’s losing his mind, because he doesn’t know where she is, he doesn’t know what this thing is, people don’t believe him. So it’s kind of a creature-feature romance.

Stella adds:

We like to make movies that focus on characters. I’m a romantic at heart, so this movie’s a romance first and a monster movie second. It’s kind of the perfect date movie, actually. You get the romance and then you get the monster.

Written and directed by Jeremy Gardner & Christian Stella it is produced by David Lawson, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead. It stars Gardner, Brea Grant, Henry Zebrowski, and Justin Benson. It will be unleashed via Cranked Up Films into theaters and On-Demand on February 14, 2020.
