Trailer released for social media horror movie Live

Live Michael V. Greene

I'm not quite sure what to think of writer/director Michael V. Greene's social media horror movie LIVE, a "creepily engaging thriller" that tells the story of

private detective Eddie Hill, hired to find Linda Johnson, whose abduction was live-streamed on Facebook. Soon Eddie witnesses the terror of the Dark Web.

LIVE stars Kellie Greene, Eddie B. Hill, Asante Jones, Giovanni Lopes, Sean McBride, Norman Towns, and Taylor Dunn.

I like the idea of a horror story playing out through Facebook live videos, but the trailer for LIVE, which can be seen below, becomes less interesting to me when it strays out of the live approach and starts mixing in found footage from other sources. The mixture could work, but for me it causes the film to lose some appeal.

Luckily, we don't have long to wait before we can find out how well LIVE works. Its release is only a week away. Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, will be giving LIVE a global Digital HD release on September 18th.
