I can’t say much about it, but it combines many of my own interests: an original take on the slasher-movie killer, drug culture, jam-band music and politics along with vicious dogs, bloodbaths and booby traps, [and combines it] into a positively outrageous mix I haven’t seen before, in our genre or any others that spring to mind.
Cool, right? I’m all about slasher films, I think the formula they use for the most part is effective every time, though some are made better than others. Crossing the traditional slasher storyline with a bunch of angles we haven’t seen before is a smart move though- look what happened when slasher crossed with smarts in SCREAM– practically jump-started the horror craze all over again. So we’ll see what Arquette can do here- I’m hopping it’s gonna blow us all away.
THE TRIPPER stars Thomas Jane, Jaime King, Lukas Haas, and Pee-Wee Herman himself, Paul Reubens (as well as an appearance by Courtney Cox-Arquette).
