You guys remember that update on THE TOXIC AVENGER 5: THE TOXIC TWINS from way back in December? I don’t blame you if you don’t… That was months ago! So what’s been going on with this supposed fifth installment of Troma Entertainment’s classic franchise? A lot it seems!
You see word got out today that Troma Entertainment have gone and hired scribe Collyn McCoy to pen the script for THE TOXIC TWINS. That’s right folks… this thing is happening! When asked about McCoy being hired Troma head honcho Lloyd Kaufman, who’s also directing THE TOXIC TWINS, had the following to say:
“Collyn’s unique talent will do more than justice to Troma’s 35-year, no-compromises legacy of shit-disturbing movies of the future! His script will undoubtedly be 100% Grade-A Troma!”
Well that’s good to know I suppose, especially considering the fact that there’s a big-budget TOXIC AVENGER reboot currently in the works. It’s good to see Troma are still sticking with the gritty stuff and not selling out. To go right along with today’s annoucement the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting scored a shot of the one-sheet used at Comic-Con last week to advertise THE TOXIC TWINS. Not really sure what this new poster has to do with Toxic Twins but we do get a full look at ‘Toxie’ so go ahead and scroll below to enjoy! Just click through for a look at the whole shot.
Now unfortunately we’re still in the dark as far as the premise for THE TOXIC TWINS goes but it’s good to see this thing moving along. Hopefully things really start rolling now that the project has a writer… Like maybe we can get a synopsis sometime soon? Oh we can hope.
