Troublemakin’ Madman

Well slap my ass and call me a beeyatch, here’s some news that should make yer willy wet with excitement! Dimension Films and Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios have teamed up to make the live-action comic adaptation of Michael Allred’s MADMAN, with George Huang to direct! Never heard of MADMAN? Just you wait!

It goes a little somethin’ somethin’ like this: Madman is a post-modernist reimagining of the Frankenstein tale, with a superhero twist. The title character, killed in a car accident, is reanimated by an eccentric doc who names him Frank Einstein and instills in him enhanced senses, psychic power and exceptional physical skills. The doc can’t fix his creature’s face, so Madman wears a costume modeled after his fave superhero to hide his scars.

Now how f*ckin’ cool is that? A horror figure turned superhero? Like I said, if you’re willy ain’t wet by now, I’d say there’s no hope for you yet! MADMAN will be made much like the creative process that rocked the comic adaptation of SIN CITY, as in the creators of the comic will be closely involved with the creator of the film. Good shite! It seems to me unless there’s someone on set who knows the source material, the movie ends up going downhill- and this is one comic-to-flick project that sounds too good to f*ck up!

Allred and Huang are writing the script together as we speak, so no word on when production is set to start, but you know we’ll keep ya updated as it happens!
