Trouble’s brewing between Brad Pitt and Angelina in this By the Sea trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel the country together. They seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet, seaside town they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants, such as a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner. That’s the synopsis for the latest Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt vehicle, although the trailer itself seems to paint a bit of a different picture.

It’s seemingly a little distracting and self-indulgent to watch an actual married couple go through married couple problems, but I suppose my biggest gripe with this is that it looks like it’s trying to be more important than it is. Almost like a bad version of BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Can we just give the two guns and call it a day?

BY THE SEA will open on November 13, 2015.
