TV Witches find director

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any movement on THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK t.v. show that is (unnecessarily) being made by ABC – no doubt in an attempt to create another DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, only with magic instead of… well, whatever the hell it is that goes on in DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES… Now we’ve got word that it’s a little closer to becoming a reality.

ABC has hired t.v. vet David Nutter to direct the pilot. If the name is unfamiliar, you must not watch too much t.v. (Good for you!) As far as pilots go, he’s directed the first episodes of MILLENIUM, DARK ANGEL, ROSWELL, WITHOUT A TRACE, SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL, THE MENTALIST and THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. So yeah, pretty much the go-to guy if you want to get your show started.

WITCHES is based on the John Updike novel of the same name about three women who turn to witchcraft after losing (or booting) the men in their lives. They conjure up a devil-like character, who then proceeds to seduce all three of them.

Cast a cool cat as the Devil along with three sexy hotties, and who knows, I might even be there with bells on…
