THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES opens in a couple of weeks, and Warner Bros. has released the first two clips from the final installment in Peter Jackson‘s second Middle-earth trilogy. It appears both clips are from the titular battle (which will reportedly be 20 to 25 minutes long), and while one is filled with action, the other features Lee Pace‘s Thranduil being a dick to Ian McKellen‘s Gandalf.

Like many of you, I haven’t enjoyed THE HOBBIT flicks as much as THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies, however I’m still pretty excited to see the final film. And hey, now Peter Jackson will finally be able to move on to other projects that don’t involve things like orcs, dwarves and elves.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES will be in theaters on December 17, 2014.
