Sure John Hillcoat’s THE ROAD has already been traveled here in the states, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still throw a little love to its overseas promo material. Perhaps if the flick wasn’t as good or had a lesser pedigree, we’d just let that shite freeze over. But since it’s a film most of us believe in around these parts, we’re offering up a U.K. trailer for the damn thing (remember, all you blokes can see the movie on January 8, 2010).
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning Cormac McCarthy novel, THE ROAD explores a father/son relationship as they amble through a bleak post-apocalyptic world. Animals have been eradicated, crops stunted, and The Man and The Boy do all they can to seek coastal refuge.
As we’re sure most of you are already aware, the flick stars the great Viggo Mortensen, my dream girl Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Bobby Duvall, Garret Dillahunt, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Molly Parker, Michael K. Williams, and Bob Jennings.
