After collaborating on the three Maniac Cop movies – and after they both bailed on Maniac Cop 3 before it was finished – director William Lustig and screenwriter Larry Cohen teamed up again on the 1996 slasher Uncle Sam. Now Lustig has announced that his company Blue Underground will be bringing Uncle Sam to 4K UHD just in time for the Fourth of July! The street date for this release is June 21st, and copies are available for pre-order through Amazon.
Uncle Sam has the following synopsis:
After perishing in a helicopter crash from “friendly fire,” Desert Storm war hero Sam Harper makes his last trip home. But Sam’s got new orders. He’s back from the dead and he’s on a mission of murder more terrifying than the IRS. Draft dodgers, flag burners and tax cheaters beware!
