Underworld 5 is officially titled Underworld Blood Wars

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A year ago, a question was asked of the UNDERWORLD franchise's loyal fans who follow its official Facebook page: "What do you think the title (of the fifth UNDERWORLD movie) should be?" It's a question that received thousands of replies. Yesterday, the page was updated with the revelation of what the film's title will be. The winner is: UNDERWORLD BLOOD WARS.

Yes, it appears that they are foregoing punctuation on this one, as the title was announced without a colon in there. UNDERWORLD BLOOD WARS.

Originally being developed under the title UNDERWORLD: NEXT GENERATION, the film was being referred to as simply UNDERWORLD 5 (or UNDERWORLD V) by the time it really started to get off the ground.

Details on the screenplay by Cory Goodman (PRIEST, THE LAST WITCH HUNTER) are being kept under wraps. UNDERWORLD BLOOD WARS marks the feature directorial debut of Anna Foerster and stars Kate Beckinsale as vampiric "Death Dealer" Selene, Theo James as her ally David, Tobias Menzies as the leader of the Lycans, Bradley James as a villain, Clementine Nicholson as a Nordic warrior, Lara Pulver as a fiercely ambitious vampire, Charles Dance as Covenmaster Thomas, and James Faulkner, Peter Andersson, and Daisy Head in unspecified roles.

Screen Gems/Lakeshore Entertainment will be releasing the film into theatres on October 14th.
