ZOMBIELAND was a huge success and therefore opened up the door for more and more (and more!) similarly themed horror/comedies. If they’re of the same caliber, then so be it. If not… well, that sucks for us.

According to Variety, Universal Pictures has acquired Rodney Rothman’s pitch for THE SOMETHING, a new horror/hybrid of the ZOMBIELAND variety. Rothman is known for being the youngest head writer for ‘Late Night with David Letterman,’ so that’s a good sign, right? He’s set to write and produce THE SOMETHING.

So. what the hell is THE SOMETHING about? I mean, it has to be about something, right? Universal doesn’t want anyone to know anything about THE SOMETHING other this this: [The film] is an ensemble comedy/horror hybrid set in deep space. Wow. Something about this synopsis totally blows me away–what that something is, I can’t put my finger on it. Will this be an ALIEN-like comedy? Hell, even THE THING isn’t safe from THE SOMETHING’s comedic wrath.

If we’re lucky, THE SOMETHING will be something like THE HAPPENING, which is one of the funniest movies ever made. We can only hope.

Stick around for more information on THE SOMETHING as we hear it.

Something about this chick is hot.
