Because we at AITH are firm believers in the talent of character actor John Hawkes, we’re about to show you one of the reasons dude is so cool!

Hawkes, star of the much buzzed about MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, sings “Marcy’s Song” in the video below, courtesy of Rolling Stone. Sparse, haunting, unplugged…the song serves as the emotional backbone of the film…or at least reinforces the emotional backbone of Elizabeth Olsen’s allegedly star-making performance. Hawkes is the f*ckin’ man!

Opening a limited theatrical run today, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE is a damaged woman (Olsen) haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, struggling to re-assimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult.

Aiding Hawkes and Olsen are Brady Corbet, Hugh Dancy, Chris Abbot, Maria Dizzia, Julia Garner, Louisa Krause and Sarah Paulson.

Without further adieu…I give you The Hawkes!
