Unrest Director Talks

Gareth over at Skewed & Reviewed had a chance to sit down with director Jason Todd Ipson about his latest movie UNREST the other day, and said some things that actually made me curious about this flick, especially since I’ve only heard just a little bit about it.


In the interview, Ipson revealed that he actually started out being a doctor before becoming a filmmaker, which made the fact that this movie is based in and around medical school that much cooler. Not sure what it’s about? Check it: A medical student unleashes a murderous spirit when she and her friend dissect a cadaver.


But what’s the craziest part? They actually used real life dead body parts while filming this movie- no prosthetics or cherry red corn syrup, the gore is the real deal Holyfield. Which is a little nasty, but hear what Ipson had to say: Prosthetics are make believe. I want people to really understand human anatomy and what death means…


Not sure if I’m on the same page, as I doubt I’ll feel spirits by watching the dead bodies on the screen, but I can see where he’s coming from. Kind of. Ok, not really, but if it’s the gimmick that’s going to make this flick popular, then by all means… use dead bodies.
