UPDATE: Dead Release

UPDATE: NOTLD 3D will actually be released in both the U.S. and Canada on November 10th! It’ll first be released in the southwest region (San Diego/Los Angeles), then throughout the rest of the country. Good news for everyone hoping to catch a glimpse, as we thought we’d have to go to Canada for a screening – not anymore!

It seems like it’s taken a long time for Jeff Broadstreet’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D to be picked up by distributors, but we got word today that Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution LP has picked it up… and has even assigned a release date. The only catch? The distribution rights are for Canada only!

Jim Sherry of Alliance had this to say: “We are thrilled to be bringing Night of the Living Dead 3D to theatres across Canada. The film is both a tribute and a re-imagining
of the original, and we think it will prove to be an extraordinary movie-going event for
Canadian audiences. Our releasing team is delighted for the opportunity to work on such an
innovative project”.

All I know is that Canadians are now a bunch of lucky bastards, as there’s no other North American release date in sight. Dang it! The flick stars the great Sid Haig, it’s inspired by George A. Romero’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, and it’s in 3D! Of course, when they use ‘inspired’ they really mean ‘remake’, but with Haig and the 3D gimmick… well, it’s almost made me forgive that fact.

So when’s the release? Well, if you’re still thirsty for horror after Halloween (and really, who isn’t?), then this is your lucky year as NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D will be released in theaters across Canada November 10th! Like I said… Canadians are a bunch of lucky bastards! Hit up the OFFICIAL SITE if you’re thirsty for more, and prepare for the dead to jump out at you this November.
