Urban Legends on your phone!

Here’s a project I’ll admit I knew NOTHING about until now, but it’s got me intrigued. This revolution of producing content for mobile devices is an astounding one. (I’m only 27, but I still feel like an old man who says things like “Back in MY day it was somethin’ else just to have an 5 inch portable t.v. with lousy reception!”) It’s especially cool for us horror fans who’ll gobble up the opportunity to watch bloody mayhem on our phones for two minutes. (Skip the exposition and cut to the good stuff!)

Which brings me to URBAN LEGENDS, a horror series produced exclusively for mobile phone viewing. Here’s the scoop, straight from the press release:

URBAN LEGENDS is a series of eight episodes, brought to life by director Christian Molina of Canonigo Films, screenwriter Mike Hostench, as well as executive producers Marivi di Villanueva for Canonigo Films and Marco Weber for Autobahn. Each of the two minute shorts deals with urban horror stories everyone has heard but most refuse to believe. In “Blood Rain” a car breaks down in a dark forest and the female driver finds herself listening to strange noises coming from atop her car’s roof after her boyfriend has left to look for help.

I think we all know how that one ends 🙂 I’m not exactly sure when this will be available to everyone (it made its debut at the Sitges Film Festival), but we’ll keep you posted as usual. And be sure to check your phones every now and again for creepy shit that isn’t simply dirty snapshots you took while at the mall.
