Vanishing on 7th St. Brad

Who wants some apocalyptic horror again? How about if I tell you that Brad Anderson (THE MACHINIST, SESSION 9) is in contention to direct? Any more interest? Well, regardless, I’m moving forward! The new flick is called VANISHING ON 7TH STREET (previously known as THE DARKNESS) and it already does have some pretty talented actors on board: John Leguizamo (THE HAPPENING) and Thandie Newton (right). Take a whack at the plot:

Following a mysterious blackout, most of the population vanishes into thin air. As the remaining survivors converge in a small tavern to figure out what happened, the darkness returns to claim them one by one.

So, basically, people have to stay out of the darkness to remain alive. Well, we’ve never heard of that idea before (DARKNESS FALLS, DARKNESS). Here’s hoping that 7TH STREET has something original (and better) to offer. If Mr. Anderson is soon confirmed as the helmer of this project, then I believe there’s a good chance. We’ll see.

Sexy Anna Paquin starred in DARKNESS.
