Veteran actors Ed Asner and Lou Gossett Jr. experience horror in The Home

Elderly rehab facilities don’t seem to be popular locations for horror movies, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a prime place for terror. And in THE HOME, some strong actors will be on the list of potential victims.

B-D says that screen veterans Ed Asner (UP, “Mary Tyler Moore”), Lou Gossett Jr. (ENEMY MINE, AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN), Fionulla Flanagan (FOUR BROTHERS, “Lost”) and Louise Fletcher (ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST) will experience Lovecraftian horrors, with further possibilities including Brian Cox (X2, TRICK r TREAT) and Cloris Leachman (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN).

The project originated from Eric Vespe and director Kristoffer Aaron Morgan, aka “Quint” and “Kraken” from fellow fansite Ain’t It Cool News. Weta (DISTRICT 9, LORD OF THE RINGS) is providing the nightmarish visuals, which will focus on practical FX.

Synopsis: THE HOME unfolds after a young man is nearly killed during a horrible accident that leaves him physically and emotionally scarred. To recuperate, he is taken to a secluded nursing home where the elderly residents appear to be suffering from delusions. But after witnessing a violent attack, he soon realizes that the screams behind the walls are caused by more than hallucinations, and the residents are being preyed upon by twisted, monstrous nightmares that lurk within the home itself.
