Friday the 13th: The Game

It may not be Friday the 13th, but it is the 13th of the month, so what better day could there be to watch a nearly five minute long video of gameplay from the upcoming Friday the 13th: The Game?

This footage debuted on Twitch TV last night as part of their E3 Showcase, and it shows an early alpha version of the game being played from the perspectives of both iconic slasher Jason Voorhees, who makes quick but bloody work of a couple victims, and of a counselor desperately trying to escape from him. It gives us a look at several different environments – the cemetery where Jason's mother Pamela is buried, the dark and foggy woods, some cabins, and the Higgins Haven cabin as seen in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III.

I like that this video features Jason as he appeared in PART III, my favorite iteration of the character, and love that you hear the voice of Pamela encouraging you when you play as Jason.

The video climaxes with an awesome "run and hide" sequence that really feels like a moment that could be in a FRIDAY THE 13TH movie. It was sort of like watching a clip from a new movie, which was great because it's been way too long since a new F13 came out.

Check out the gameplay video below, and if you want to pre-order the game you can do so at F13Game.com
