Vin Diesel may have found someone to produce his Hannibal trilogy

JoBloJoBlo

Vin Diesel has made it very well known that his dream project would be a film version of the tale of Hannibal the Conqueror. We have heard rumors for years that he has been trying to find funding to make it with no success. Now, at the height of his popularity, Diesel may have finally found the money to make the epic he has wanted for a long time.

Diesel shared this on his Facebook page:

“When a dream is born in your childhood…When you spend a decade daring to pursue it…The day, a head of a studio says… “I want to make all three films of your Hannibal trilogy!” Haha…It takes a minute to sink in…Shhhhh… it’s still sinking in.”

No other details were shared aside from the image below. This could mean the project is actually happening or just a handshake deal from a producer. But, someone saying they are up for financing an epic historical trilogy would have to be taken seriously.

Hannibal was one of the greatest military leaders of all time. He is most commonly associated with riding a war elephant through the Mediterranean. His name is often synonymous with military strategy and is uttered along with Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar.

Whether Diesel will just star and produce or write the script is still a long ways off. Until this is officially announced by one of the trades or a studio, I would treat this like most Facebook posts.
