Are sex tapes still relevant?

CANDYMAN director Bernard Rose (above) has been toiling steadily the last few years; as the three movies he has set to hit this year will attest. One of the projects he recently wrapped is an intriguing horror flick called SX_TAPE, which Voltage Pictures liked well enough to pick up for distribution. Steven Schneider, producer behind such low-budget hits as INSIDIOUS and P.A. 3, is doing the same with SX_TAPE.

Written by Eric Reese:

Story finds a young couple who attempt to spice up their relationship by recording a sex tape in an abandoned mansion. It quickly becomes apparent that they’re not exactly alone in their new ominous surroundings, and their kinky adventure turns into a desperate fight for survival.

Caitlyn Folley and Ian Duncan play the lead couple, with Diana Garcia (below) lending support. Voltage aims to commence international sales at the Cannes Market this month.

Okay, so how do you like the premise of SX_TAPE? I like it quite a bit, despite sex tapes feeling sort of passé at this point. Or reserved for the most vapid of D-listers. They are pretty horrific though, so maybe it’s good breeding ground for a horror flick.
