Vote on Netflix shorts

JoBloJoBlo

Earlier this year, Netflix and Film Independent challenged aspiring filmmakers to submit short films showcasing their talent for a contest.

The prize? A $150,000 production grant for a full-length narrative film (plus equipment and production packages), distribution through the Netflix Web site and guidance by film industry veterans during the making of his/her film. Judged by a group of accomplished filmmakers, including actor/director Josh Brolin, the winning film will premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June 2010. Pretty sweet deal, eh?

The 10 semifinalist short films are available for viewing online now. You can go vote on your fave until July 5th, when the five survivors will be judged by the panel and the winner announced later this summer. Check ’em out below!
