We’ve had a lot of exceedingly dramatic rags-to-riches, struggling with drug dependency and pretentious enough to be at least Oscar nominated biopics of a myriad of musicians over the years that it’s about high time somebody made fun of these movies. Told in the same vein as RAY or WALK THE LINE, the Jake Kasdan directed and Judd Apatow co-scripted WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY does just that. We follow the titular Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) as he overcomes a ridiculous amount of adversity, falls in love with the love of his life (Jenna Fischer) and ultimately become the iconic musical demigod with the power of his incredible musical gift.
