Just last week, Jared P. introduced your eyes to a bunch of behind-the-scenes, gory stills from the upcoming thrill-stroll WALKING DISTANCE. The more I learn about this flick from writer/director Mel House (CLOSET SPACE), the more down with it I get. Now, with the release of the first official poster (above), I’m even more intrigued.

I just love it when one-sheets are able to convey a great deal with very little (that’s usually rule #1 for teasers). And WALKING’s one above definitely passes with flying colors. That smoky haze has one eerie aura and I’m really digging the brief hint of pearly whites. Job well done!

So is my article finished? Not a chance in hell! I’ve got one more BONUS reason why WALKING DISTANCE continues to stride up my must-see scale: Adrienne King was just added to the cast! “Who’s Adrienne King?” some of the uninitiated may be asking. She was the one who knocked off the noggin of Jason’s mommy! That’s right! Ms. King portrayed “Alice” in the original FRIDAY THE 13TH! According to IMDB, she hasn’t been in a movie since FRIDAY THE 13TH PART II, so WALKING represents her horror movie comeback! I guess she figured that if Jason could keep coming back, so could she! The details about her role are being kept quiet. All we know is that her character’s name is Louise Strack. I guess we’ll find out more soon because principle photography began today.

Again, here’s the plot synopsis: An idyllic, small, self-sufficient community. On the surface, it seems like the perfect neighborhood. Everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. But… the pastoral exterior conceals a dark past and an even darker secret. As a group of individuals – each with their own ties and agendas with the town and each other – converges on the enclave, strange things begin to happen. Very strange things. Strange enough to test – and then break – the very fabric of reality itself.
