Warlock (1989) – Best Horror Movie You Never Saw

Last Updated on July 6, 2022

In the late 80s, screenwriter David Twohy had an idea to write about a man from the 17th century who fled the time period to avoid religious persecution, only to find himself still persecuted in the world of today. After a few months of trying to get the idea to work, he had to rework the script entirely and change the man into the piece’s villain. From there, the greatness of Warlock (WATCH IT HERE OWN IT HERE) was born.

A mainstay in the video stores and cable channels of the ’90s, Warlock is a beauty that stands as a fun and creative “fish out of water” fantasy-horror tale. Slasher films had overtaken the horror genre at the time, and it was refreshing to see a return to supernatural horror with life-ending stakes. Sands and Grant both play their parts perfectly and give the audience a fun adventure through time, magic, and evil itself. Join us as we delve into why this is a quest worth taking on the Best Horror Movie You Never Saw!

Directed by Steve Miner and starring Julian Sands, Lori Singer, and Richard E. Grant, Warlock has the following synopsis:

A warlock flees from the 17th to the 20th century, with a witch-hunter in hot pursuit.

This episode was Written by Bryan Wolford, Narrated by Shawn Knippleberg, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
